Default oil filter tool

I have had no problems removing or installing oil filters on me 01 roadking using the wraparound strap filter wrench. It's a sqare tube connected to a nylon strap the tube takes a 1/2in.drive wrench, and the strap fits around the oil filter w/no clearance problems.

Even easier - use the K&N filter with the 17mm nut on the end.

i wonder how many lugnuts overtightened the K+N filter - with a nut on there it is just begging to be ham fisted....convenient? I guess - but you dont need it

I use one of those $2.99 oil filer plier deals to get the old one off - and yes it does mangle it, but so what? I never have to negotiate with a filter with that tool......and I use the old "hand tight only" procedure when putting a freshie on....after filling it with new oil and oiling the rubber oring- of course.....

ugh

man, i dont know about you guys, but i ate too much tonight!

I gotta agree with steveb on this one. Just pick up a cheap strap filter wrench from Wally World.
