Changed cams in my twin cam about 3 yrs ago.You have to align the oil pump when you put it back together,pretty simple,but there's know reason to replace it.I don't think you need gear driven cams either,at least not on a street motor.I used tw55 cams and the heads have been ported,bigger valves,stiffer springs,no problems for 3 yrs now.Runs as good as ever and haven't replaced the shoes yet.I'll probably replace the shoes this yr but no big deal and not much money.Buy the way,If you're using very much cam you'll have to grind some clearence from the case for the rear lobe,also no big deal.
