Question Liftime Oil Filter

Has anybody tried PURE POWER High Performance Liftime Oil Filter for Big Twins and Twin Cam engines? I like the Idea of having never to buy a filter but at around $200.00 you could buy a lot of paper filters. If the claims are correct it should give better milage and run cooler? anyway just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on these.
Thanks

Bill

I only have a half a thought on this.

I am running A long use Air Filter in both my Car and Bike. All you have to do is knock the dirt out by blowing or sucking it up and washing it in a mild detergent. Well I have cleaned both in the last few years and I cannot believe by looking at them after they are dried that they are as affective as when I first purchased them.

An oil filter has a heck of a lot more contaminents going through it. It is being dirtied and worn. I dunno. Can you use it over a lifetime?? I wouldn't until I saw actual proof that it did what is intended. I am not going to be the one to run one and chance it.

Anyone using one of these?

So I ask you sgtcowboyusmc...........If you had your gas mask on and you walked into a contaminated area......... You were told that once out all you had to do was wash your filters in your mask and they would be good for a lifetime. Would you or would you replace with brand spankin new ones? I just dont trust the technology as of yet.....

Thumbs down This same question was asked before

Go to the forum's main page LUBRICATION topic. There, you'll find that the 16th thread down on the 2'nd page has several posts answering it...pretty much in keeping with JC's responce here...only more negatively.

Oh,"hey",Sarge...I would'nt want to discourage anyone from asking a specific question before searching the "whole forum" to see if it's been asked/answered before.

Hell, that could take forever !! I just happened to remember that one, as well as where/when I thunk I saw it...and just thunk I'd try to make things a little simpler for all concerned...pure luck !!

Good call Ken..

Absolutely right-- a guy can't go searching the whole forum to see if a similar question has been asked..
If a member already knows where one is, like you did, is it certainly helpful though..

But, you know whats goofy-- when a guy doesn't read an entire thread to find out that the question has already been answered and resolved and then offers an answer to the original question, often wrong..

That's happened several times.. I encourage folk to read the entire thread before adding to it..

Default I wasn't knocking you EVO

I just didn't try to check as good as I should have. I agree one doesn't have to search high and low and sort through all the threads, but on that one it wasn't burried very deep.

I appreceiate your help and yeah, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Thanks again guys.

Bill

Cool Sarge

Not to worry...never felt you were "knocking" me...just did'nt want to leave you thinking that maybe I'd been "knocking" you, for any reason.

Cool frisco

Could'nt agree with you more...and the sad part is that the non-readers not only queer the works to some extent..but also go away as wrong (in some cases) as when they (usually newbies) dropped in...while missing the FUN of it all, in most cases.

Case in point...the hilarious sarcasm in your initial responce to the original thread on this subject cracked ME up. In fact that may well have something to do with my happening to recall it.

Besides, if he went searching the whole forum I would miss my chance to say "Oh hellllllllll no!"

There is no way you can get it to filter properly and be cleanable.

Just not gonna happen.
