I run oil coolers on both bikes; the '06 has a thermostat and I don't even have to give temperature a thought. The '87 has a cover which takes 2 swconds to take off and stash. Oil temps on either bike sit right at 185 on the hottest days. I wouldn't be without an oil cooler...
