I wasnt gonna mention my jap bikes, cuz the original question was about Harley chains... but, here goes.... I never oiled mine at all, rode thru dirt, grass, snow, rain etc... till the sprockets wore almost off. then replace 'em and go again.... The first time I oiled my chain, the oil flew up all over my new jeans and I never oiled them again.....
