Default Voltage Regulators & Oil Filters in Rigid Pan Frames

Originally a cad. plated (rigid frame) oil filter bracket that was cut, heated, and the pieces twisted to match each other as best as possible - an oxy-acetelyne #6 torch tip to preheat both sides of the piece held in a vise and bent when red-hot.

The new bracket is curved a lot more than the original. Use a metal snap-pin mark to let you know which way to bend the bracket before you heat it.

If V-Twin were to make this cad. plated bracket and the cad. plated oil feed line for the S&S pump, then builders could install '58 - 64 motors in rigid Pan frames, and avoid the 32E generator and relay electrical components.
Or, heli-coil Cycle Electric's 61A generators for 1/4" screws and run a 2-brush generator on '36 -57 OHV motors.

(left) Bracket for '36 - 57 using a voltage regulator on a rigid frame Knuckle or Pan. • (right) '58-64 bracket.

The bracket needs to be bent, so that drawing up the frame and filter nuts produces level results.

The flattened tip of the rigid frame oil bracket originally tilts up some. I heated the bracket about 1/4" back from the flattened section and bent it down to horizontal,

and that put everything plumb.
