Default Aftermarket radios

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket radios on non-touring models? I've heard a few good things about 2 Wheel Tunes, but that's about it.

Bluebob, I forget what you ride, but dragonfly concepts offers a fairing that attaches like the windshield on a heritage. Looks like the stereo could be changed out for a better unit, or maybe fairing without any stereo and add your own. I'd think at least a windshield would be in order. Also, a couple years ago, HD offered some type of stereo handle bar mounted, but I didn't pay much attention to it... I do remember it sounded good on display. Probably not much help, but... enjoy yer Friday!

Thanks 94. Not too keen on putting fairing on my Street Bob. Great for some, but not for me. I've heard good things about the H-D radio too... at least sound-wise. My problem with it is that it's HUGE. The speakers, tuner, and amp are all one consolidated unit and mount right to the riser. The one offered by 2 Wheel tunes has bullet-style speakers that look like turn signals pointed in the opposite direction and everything else is hidden. I just want some testimonial on sound! Am I gonna be sinkin' $400 into something that sounds like someone mounted walkman speakers to my bike and turned the volume WAY up?

There's one place, www.jmcorp.com that sells audio stuff just for bikes, but they did not offer what you're looking for when I got my replacement speakers. They might now; I'd check 'em out. Real cool people, too. And my speakers are great, no hassle dealing with them, so I'm not shy to recomend them. Good luck... whatever you go with, let me know, my wife needs a stereo for the heritage. Like you, she doesn't want the fairing.
