Default Dowco Tail Bags

I saw these bags in AIM a few months ago. They looked geared towards sport bikes and the bag was shown on a V-Rod.

Well, I have been looking for some bags for my FXSTB. Currently, I only have a solo seat, no sissy bar, no luggage rack. I wanted something I could mount securely onto the rear fender that will accomodate my helmet, a laptop, some running shoes, etc. The only things I could find were bags that required a sissy bar or rack.

I finally bit the bullet and just purchased the Dowco bags, hoping fitment on my night train would not be an issue. Well, I am very pleased with my purchase. There are abundant ties that come with the bag and I was able to securley mount the bag to my rear fender. No more bungie straps and my back pack sliding off. The bags are great and I can say they work with my FXSTB.

Vin,

Hows the quality of your bag? On par with a T-Bag? Water resistant? A buddy needs an overnight bag that can mount to his luggage rack only. Harley wants a small fortune for their stuff. BOtz

Sorry for the late reply, been having some issues with the new grips I put on my bike.

The bags are pretty good. I have looked at the T-Bags in the store and the material seems to be comprable to the Dowco bag. There are a lot of accessories that come with it, including an add on tote that clips to the top of the bag. I use this for my workout clothes (shoes, shorts, shirt, etc.) Also, there is a zipper that allows it to expand. When expanded, I was able to put my laptop, workout clothes, an empty backpack, and a sweater in the whole thing. Not bad for the small footprint. There is also a pull out back pack strap on the bag as well and a rain hood that you can pull out of a zippered compartment and put over the whole bag to keep it dry. Probably not good for more then a couple hours of dry time, but it is better then nothing.

Like I said, for the price ($89 with free shipping) and the fitment, I have not found anything even close to this bag, and I looked long and hard.
Hope that helps, let me know if you need a pic of it mounted and I will send you one.

I have a set of the Dowco Iron Rider bags,2 main bags,a roll bag and the computer bag..I dont know if this is the same line of bags we're talking about ,but the quality is outstanding..I've had there about 3 years and the only problem I've had is fading from the sun..they have lots of tiedowns, and come with rain covers....very happy with them.
