Default Rocker C Pillion Seat

Hi Guys/Gals

I have a gripe that is paining me about my new Harley Rocker C which i have spent 2 months searching for an answer for. You guys are my last resort and i have been referred here by another forum, a member of which stated that you poeple where the ultimate "harley men and women"

I own a Rocker C which comes with the underseat pillion structure and seat. I want to use that back seat to hold luggage, but i dont want to purchase the Rocker standard luggage strut system or anything of the standard HD bits becuase they are for the standard Rocker and i want to utilise the underseat structure that comes with the Rocker C.

I therefore want a third party pillion seat for the RockerC which simply connects onto the RockerC seat chrome structure. i just want to utilise the standard RockerC pillion fixing system, and have a pillion seat which has the sissybar and backrest already attached, something that i can leave in the garage and then pull out when needed and simply pop onto my Rocker C

Does anyone feel the pain im having here at all ?

I'm thinking that this will have to be custom made by a fab shop and chromed. Good luck. It took three years for HD to make a set of mag wheels that fit both the front and the rear of my bike. They recently added (for a 2006 Dyna) 3 or 4 more sets that fit both the front and rear.

This is not exactly hardcore but this is how it came to be.

I started out with a Sports Bike back in 04 and had purchased a luggage rack that I had hoped to be able to take from bike to bike and after some research I ended on a Ventura luggage system. After picking up my Rocker C in April I was interested in getting new mounting hardware for my luggage system but Ventura hasn't or won't make a new mount and I ended up fabricating one. The piece I built allows for the Ventura racks to be changed from big bag to little bag mimicking the system that Ventura used. The piece locks into where the passenger seat goes.

I borrow my buddies bag to see what it would look like with two bags, which made you have more than enough room, but normally I only have one.

That is very nice, you need to take some photo of just the mount and show us how you did it.
Great Idea, Maybe one of the AIM advertisers will see your photos and decide to manufactures one like it.

I agree with HarleyCruiser. I know Sammysrocker would appreciate the pics. It looks pretty good considering there wasn't much back there to work with on the Rocker. Great job.

Thumbs up Re: Rocker C Pillion Seat

Motorcycle luggage, hard soft motorcycle luggage, racks, touring luggage | Ventura

I measure the front bar that is on the rear seat and then went out and bought round stock that was the same diameter. I cut a piece to match the front bar so it could slide into the chrome flip out. From there I formed two sides to match up with the ventura pack rack.

http://www.ventura-bike.com/media/images/packrack1.jpg

These sides were heated with a torch and bent to give me the right height and distance it sat back from the rider. After this I added a couple cross bars and made the slide that would secure it to the chrome flip out. The slide was steel tube which was slightly larger than the round stock, round stock (beveled at one end, like the rear seats slide) a couple washers, and a spring from good old home depot. I added a key chain ring on the one end for a pull and then brought it off to get powder coated.

I road this fall from Albany, NY through the Skyline Drive to the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway and back with this luggage rack. It is still holding up just fine.

I hope this helped everyone out. I know it's not the prettiest and doesn't fit with the leather side bag image of a harley but it served me well and allows me to throw it on and off just like the back seat.

a picture of seat clipping on,and one of bike with seat off.My wife is really pleased with the seat and thinks it is the most comfortable seat she has ridden on,we did over 2000 miles around ireland in a few days-no problems.I designed it with the slope up at the back rather than a scissy bar,it works well.My mate also has a rocker c and has designed and built a clip on rack,i will post photos soon-tomo

Hello, thank you all for the ideas!!! I find them very usefull.
First of all, excuse me for my english... I´m from Spain and i don´t write it as I like...

I´m a Rocker C owner, and my wife... you know, is not so happy with her seat (only anyone that has seat on it knows...) Please Tomlink1, could you please show how to do that wonderfull passenger seat? or tell me how to get one? I Like it so much, but without the flames in the side (my Rocker C is blue)

Thank you very much!!!!
