Default Newbie asks...how do I mount a King Tour Pack

I bought my first Harley after years of riding Crotch rockets. I love it and enjoy the different riding style. It's a 1996 electra glide standard that came with a king tour pack ( uninstalled). I was going to install it, but got to a point where it looks like I needed to unbolt the shock mount bolts.
Can someone direct me as how to install the Tour Pack, and is there a quick release set up fpr this?
I have tons of new stuff to learn about my Harley and am loving it so far.
Thanks for any help.
David

Hi there, and welcome to the forum!
It looks like you are not afraid to jump in and try stuff, so I say go for it. If it looks like it needs to go that way, it probly does. It's just nuts and bolts, you can always put them back on.
of course the first advice we all give here is to get a manual as soon as you can. get the one specifically for your bike. in the meantime, go for it!
I dont have a bike like yours nor the book to reference, so thats the best I can do for now.
Good Luck and have fun.

Hello Lemmon, I hope installing that tour pak doesn't sour you.........yeah........
the Electra Glide Standard usually doesn't come with a tour pak so it might have the wrong mounting bracket behind your seat unless that came with the tp. There is a quick release set up for 97's and later in my HD P&A book, but quite possibly a jobber has a quick release set up for your year. In the meantime, good luck.
