| | Comfortable Seat....Personal experiences wanted I need to get a new seat for my Road King Custom. I have a hip & back problem plus the wife really hates the current seat. I can't decide what seat would be best but I've narrowed it down to the Saddlemen Explorer Special and the Corbin Dual Tour. Let me know what you ride on and what you think. Comfort and quality are primary issues. |

| | I have the Corbin Dual tour on my 01 FLSTF and like it very much. It is made of a high density foam so it feels a little hard at first, but once broken in it sits very nice. Any questions you have you can contact Corbin directly and talk to a sales rep. about them, which I found very helpfull. There is a phone number on there web site to contact them. The quality of the seat is also very good. Hope this helps you out. |

| | I live in the Seattle area, Ricks custom upholstry built me a seat for no more than an after market. It was built for me with a jell pad sewn in. Best seat by far I've ever had on a bike. Check some shops in your area, way better than off the shelf Posted by: Garry F on Mar 30, 06 7:11:05 pm |

| | I'd go with Mustang or Corbin. Nice , wide, cushy seats and available with detachable backrests. |

| | Can't say enough about my Mustang solo w/backrest!!! After the 1st two trips to Sturgis on my 2000 Dyna WG(approx 4000 miles each trip), I put the Mustang on. The next two rides up were absolutely incredible as far as change in comfort level goes. Gotta try it, to believe it! And no, I don't work for Mustang! LOL |

| | I'd say look into the air seats that Harley makes, but I'm not sure that they fit RK's. Other than, I'm 3 years on my Corbin Gunfighter on my FXDWG and it's infintely more comfortable than the stock seat I got with it. You could look into the Gunfighter & Lady or the Dual Tour, and now you even have heating options. I also recommend a backrest if you're a long hauler. Mine is amazing when I'm pulling hundreds of miles at a clip. |

| | I have a 97 Dyna Wide Glide that I bought new. The wife was never completely happy with the stock seat. I thought long and hard about a Corbin Dual Tour, but the price was a big factor. I went in to one of the local H-D dealers and saw the Sundowner on display. I bought it (about 1/3 the price of the Corbin) and swapped out the backrest also. I've ridden up to Sturgis the last 3 years with it and it has made a big difference. I sometimes wonder about the Corbin and anyone out there can compare the two I'd like to hear about it. |

| | I think it is hard to beat a Corbin Dual Touring saddle for a Road King. BUT, don't over look the other ergonomics that effect ride comfort. The handlebars and use of a backrest are CRITICLE to rider comfort. I too have lower back issues. On my Road King I run Chubby bars, Dual tour seat and backrest. I have over 100K on my 1999 bike and haven't had any back problems with this setup.
