Default Fork Brace

Anyone have any experience using a fork brace on a Harley?

A friend of mine is considering adding one, but when I ask him why he doesn't really seem to have a good reason.

Perhaps he just wants more chrome on the forks.

Hey Knuck

Those things have been around for decades. The original idea was to lessen twisting of the forks. Guys usually put them on when they experience some twitching in bumpy fast corners. Personally I think they might help a little and along with some other "handling" mods it might add up to something you can actually feel. A lot of the time twitchiness in the corners is from just hanging on too tight to the handlebars.

My FXR4 has one. Does it really help? I dunno....The bike handles great. Solid in the bumpy fast sweepers but then it's an FXR.

Hey guys

If you aren't running a front fender and have only a single front brake you sometimes can literally see a twist in the front wheel when you hit the front brake.. That is the lower legs twisting..

A good strong front fender gives some resistance against that twist by locking the lower legs..
I've done it both ways..
BUT---
In my experience I don't think I ever felt a twist while simply in a turn, tight or sweeper with or without a fender.. Coulda been there though and I just didn't feel it..

Like Mil says, does it help,,??? but,, it prob doesn't hurt..
