I've been an electrician for 30+ years. A hammer is one of the most important electrical service tools.

Well, I guess the hammer is a universal tool, then...the bigger, the better.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo----------SNAP!!! Ha-Ha! I have a weird sense of humor and sometimes will give the impression that I have more than my share of alcohol at times. Just to be clear. I might enjoy a "toddy" whilst cleaning on the bike, but I know better than to wrench or ride on the bike while under the influence. Now drinking while posting is an issue I occasionally have trouble with,.....but only on Friday's or sometimes Saturdays.....

I wasnt very smart back in the early 80's I drank an awfull lot and was riding an awfull lot too.... not smart, but anyway... one time I had to fix a leak in the side case, so I rode to work on a Saturday, opened up the shop, got out the cutting torch and cut off the welds to the shifter lever that was welded in place.... NO gloves... my cousin was 'helping' me. we were drinking a lot that day... so I didnt even think about it and picked up the lever bare handed... the smoke poured outta my hand along with an insane frying bacon sound while I just sat there in amazement looking at it.... Cousin was laughing, thought it was real funny....then I dropped it when the pain finally hit me.... It burned all the 'pads' on all my fingers... skipped the soft skin in the joints, so I had 3-rows of burns!!!!
Drank a few more beers and finished the job and went riding.
Next day was not so funny....

Drinking and wrenching is dangerous too,,,

Sorry I got off track here with your thread, maybe we can start a new thread about funny drunken wrenching stories???

maybe not.

Sounds like you had a bit of a wild streak in ya, unc! I don't mind talking about whatever in my threads, so don't worry about getting off topic. I got it fixed! I drove 40+ miles out of my way to the nearest H-D dealership (Smokin' Harley-Davidson) in Winston-Salem and picked up an oil change kit and a can of S-100 engine brightener spray. Man that's gotta be one of the bigger dealerships out there! They looked like they were overrun with bikes to sell. I only wish I could afford one.... But I digress; Anyhoo, I got the bike all cleaned up and shining in preparation for a poker run tomorrow. I just came upstairs checked the weather and it's forecasting rain! If I had some rain gear, I'd probably go anyhow.
