books of knowledge Absolutely. A factory manual gives you all the basics you need and don't be affraid to read the chapter your looking at two or three times I'm not kidding it's never as simple as it sounds also try to get your hand's on a parts manual, with older bikes the OEM number is an invaluable tool when ordering after market parts [ as the factory has probablly stoped making most all of them] they always seem to say "replaceses OEM part #" ...check these numbers. to save having to send them back and waiting another week to continue your build. Next find an old "motor head"
and you'll never need to buy another "tricked-out" book again, most of them are more than happy to impart thier well earned knowledge, just remember they expect you to use the advice. or don't bother going back. |
