Default I Gots Dem Shovelhead Bluz!

No matter how good I am to that old shovel she just keeps break'n my heart! She's fresh from a new top end. So today I washed and waxed the old girl till my knees & back nearly give out. I sprayed the chain with some chainwax, I've done this a million times (I shut the chain oiler off years ago cuz it either was off or would just gush oil) anyway this time some of that wax must've gotten into the rear drum. I took off this evening and hit the brakes at the stop sign at my corner...I swear she picked up speed as I shot through the intersection...no rear brakes at all! I feel like the south end of a north bound mule! So now tomorrow morning I gotta pull the wheel! I keep threatening to trade that shovel for a dog and then shoot the dog!

The dogs of the world are safe. I took the wheel off cleaned everything with Brake Clean put it back together and I've got a rear brake again! So I'm back in love with my shovel, but if she lets me down one more time Fluffy better run for cover!

Default They Gotta Go!

I put the other shovel up in the classifieds ads. That's the one I never touched the cosmetics, she's just the way it came out of the barn. That was a true "bike in the barn" story. I've had a good time with it, she rides like being on a cloud, but it's time for that one to go. Then the 74 FXE has got to go. I need to simplify, I've spent a lifetime collecting and now I look at this stuff and go "What da Hell do I need all this for?"

I didn't think you needed a good reason for collecting HD's and parts for them. Do you have pictures of these bikes you're getting rid of? How many dogs do you want for them?
