Excellent bit of advice! When I rebuilt my '77, I had to destroy all those hose crimps to take it apart, and when I reassembled it I went and bought the factory style clamps and the special crimper. And Yes, before I had that tool, I would sometimes use a pair of diagonals.
The tool's in great shape, too, after all these years! (Doesn't see a lot of use any more................)

Great Ideas, Thanks.
After I isolate the primary, eliminate the proper hoses, and the Tee, I was thinking of using the fancy shiney chrome thingy's I bought for the BMC fuel line. It still has the worm drive clamp, but it is hidden inside the chrome 'barrel'. I bought a ot of 8 a while back, so I may as well use them.

There are three on the BMC, on each side of the filter, and then the petcock.

But if there isn't enuff room for them shiney things, or it just dont look right, I am glad you guys gave me another option.

How do those come un-done, Unc? Are they reusable?
Pardon me for saying so, but although they look cool on your chopper, I think they'd be out of place on the Shovel. JMOMFO.

Here's another view.

And yes, I think they may be out of place too, o that's why I am glad you guys mentioned the other clamps.

Kinda hard to see it there, so here is a left end, right end and side view....

I think it is for 3/8" fuel line.

I see. So basically they are just glorified hose clamps.
Here's a shot of that messy area on my shovel showing the OEM style clamps.

Naaaaaaa... I just didn't know any better in '93 when I rebuilt the bike. Since then, I just haven't gotten around to isolating the primary, which I should do! I'll get to it next spring when I can get back around to giving the shovel some more attention. Right now I'm revitalizing my '41 Pan.

I personally do not like the factory crimped type hose clamps. Especially when used on fuel lines. Do you carry the tool and extra clamps with you in case you need to do some roadside repairs? The worm drive clamps may look scandalous, but they are reusable.

Big, Are you sure it is a '41 Pan?

Haugster, those clamps can be opened up with a small screwdriver and re-clamped with a pair of diagonal cutters. Not so bad.... works okay on the road. But I carry a handful of small hose clamps in my tool bag anyway....

As for the panhead, yeah what was I thinking?! It's actually a '59 Knucklehead.
