| | Re: Shovel Project I found a shovel that threw a rod and damaged the case.....
Is it a too big of hassel to get another motor and then keep the bike the stock 1979 registration>? or does anyone know. I dont want a "special construction bike"
I know the motor swap is the easy part. just the resgistration I am worried about. |

| | Re: Shovel Project Holy crap
Get it before it disappears..
The registration goes with the Frame..!!!!!
Just bring the New motor MSO with you in your bags at all time..
I've never been questioned about the Motor No.'s----- but once in awhile they will look at the frame No.'s and compare to your Regist..
Do it or I will (not really, just wanna scare you).. Do it..!!

| | Re: Shovel Project Glad you got the shovel psyc. I was pulling for a 1976 FXE, which was my 1st Harley. But I am sure you will like the 79. Can't wait for the pics of the starter bike and the build.

| | Re: Shovel Project Before I would buy this bike I would check with the DMV in your state to find out what is required for putting another engine in this motorcycle. Just my 2 cents.

| | Re: Shovel Project Uncle..... Think about this for a moment.... your buying a scoot with a blown motor!
Maybe the cases can be repaired, maybe not. You need to see and touch it BEFORE any money changes hands, IMHO.....
If a new motor is indeed needed, you are back on the search and it may not be as simple as you think... Please... be careful here!!!!! | | | |
