A few years ago when Evos were still new and the rage, Shovelhead Harleys seemed to gather greater popularity overseas and a lot of Americans were selling and shipping used Harley Shovelhead motorcycles overseas as fast as they could crate them up.
So what's the deal now that Evos have been replaced by Harley Twin Cams as the hot new engine? Are Shovelhead Harleys still hot overseas?
I am seeing more of them show up here are bobbers and inexpensive customs.

It does seem as though the people buying motorcycles are staying away from the "troubleheads" as they are known. I also see more and more that old Pans are admired and loved, but not wanting to be purchased or worked on. These folks want to jmp on a scoot and go without the "hassle" of having to do "routine" maintenance.
There are things that have to be done when you own and maintain an older Harley.
I believe you're right, s.Bob. I wonder if it's a lack of knowledge more than anything...?
I have a Shovel, 2 Pans, and an Evo. Maintenance is an on-going part of riding.
Love the "Iron Motor" Im looking to build a Pan Head next. I love to work on my bike. I'ts always gotten me home. I've owned (2) 1980 & 1979. I know their AMF thats history.
