Default New Bonneville Speed Record

A guy named Jeff Baily, with a basically stock S&S SB 100 engine on a 1999 Buel X1 chassis set a new record at Bonneville of 172.591 in the APS/PG class announced by S&S today. Baily had a XR 750 TT replica fairing with 65 pounds of lead and steel for ballast to improve traction on the salt. The runs were made the week of September 11-15, 2007. I got the information from a e-mail from S&S. How about a "Duel Sportster" with a S&S 100 " motor.

I would like to see the dyno tests on horse power on the ground with an S&S 100". tHERES just so many ways to get hp with heads without going that many cu in. But if you could fit a 100" in a sportster frame i bet it would scream!

If a person so desires S&S could fix them right up, Hotrodsporty. I would have way too much fun on something like that. What it cost to build would be nothing compared to the cost of traffic violations .

Shovel My 88" in my sporty is hard to behave on, I wouldn't want to press any more luck with bigger and faster.
