Default Got T-Boned on the way home tonight

I got T-Boned by a 17 year old on the way home.

I had the right of way, traveling on the main road, he pulled out from a side road on my right, hitting me square in the right leg.

Two things...

Thank GOD, I just took the MSF class, last month, emergency braking while swerving was covered in detail and "auto pilot" just took over,
or it would/could ahve been a LOT worse.

And,
Glad I wasn't traveling any slower, or I would have T-ed him.

The bikes gonna have to go to the garage (driveable)
and I'm gonna be black and blue, especially my right leg.

Maybe one more thing, glad it's cold out, I was bundled up like the Michelin man which probably helped absorb some of the impact.

BTW, He "never saw me".

Right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get around telling the wife.
She's going to FREAK!

Glad you escaped. I've really gotten tired of the "didnt see you" line. Just curious, was it dark or still light out? You had a lucky day today. Oh...you will feel it tomorrow like 94 said. Got my bandages off today, saw my knee first time since the surgery.....DOnt look too bad but it still hurts pretty good. Glad your OK. Botz P.S. Watch your bruises for a few day.....be careful for blood clots...they can sneak up on ya...You dont want that!!!

Glad to hear you're ok! Make sure they go over the bike well, Insurance adjusters seem to miss alot, then again they work for the ones paying the bill!

I Blame the system for the 17 year olds mistakes; A few questions on a computer followed by a 10 minute trip around the block and you're qualified to operate a 3 ton wrecking machine.

Sorry to hear about it but glad you are in condition to share the experience with us so soon.

I was T-boned almost 3 years ago at Daytona Bike Week by a kid who ran a red light and slammed into me while I was testing a Motor Trike V-Rod trike. I was on a trike, hwe ws in a brand new Suburban (one of the biggest SUVs on the road). Totalled my bike, threw me through the air, and tore my left rotator cuff clean through. His truck had some scratches on the side.

Not only didn't he see me, but he claims he had a green light and I hit him. He tried to imply I was a drunk biker whooping it up at Daytona Bike Week.

The judge and jury thought otherwise and I finally won the case against him. I have to wonder if it'll make any diffference in how he drives.

Hope you recover your health and bike loss quickly.
