Default Sportster Upgrades

I am a recent new Sportster 1200 owner and interested in doing some upgrades. Anyone know where to look?

Thanks,
John

Check out what Harley has, and J&P. New sportsers (2004 and up) are hard to find. Check out AIM's XL section from a few months ago. You will find the discussion was on why companies are not making parts for the newer sporty. Most of my upgrades come straight from J&P or Harley. I try to stick to Harley, that way I know it fits.

the two places i have found are the dealership and j&p cycles. there's not a whole lot out there. looked a alot of different sites, mostly they're just for the big boys, not for us sportys.

Depends on what kind of upgrades you want. Be more specific. Do you want to change your looks or better performance? If you don't want to get laughed at DO NOT PUT PLASTIC on you bike. That is extremely cheezy. I go to three places. First HD, second Dennis Kirk, and third JP Cycles. I shy away from knock offs because it actually drives up the cost of parts at a HD dealer.

Myself personally, I'd rather spend my money on gas, not parts. J&P and HD are the main sources. I have a Nightster, so am pleased to see dealers stocking more black parts. But HD doesn't want us to upgrade for performance - we're supposed to buy a "real bike" instead with our disposable income, though I can't imagine their profit margin is that much higher. All I know is that I left a bunch of Big Twins in the dust yesterday taking the turns....
