Question Big Bore kits for Sportys

I am new to the Sportster model, but have recently aquired one very cheap.....it is already VERY customized, but I want to go bigger with the engine.....So, my question is......" Is there a Big bore kit for a 1200, to a 1300-1350 range?"....if not, How much work has to be done to accomidate a 1340 engine?

Thanks, Cole

Not aware of a kit that size( unfortunately). As for a 1340, won't work unless you go super custom!! The sportster motor/trans is a one piece unit as a 1340 motor /trans is a 2 piece unit and is larger.

There is a kit at NRHS - High Performance for your Harley Twin Cam, Evolution, Sportster or Buell! (303)702-1600 they have 88c.i. and 90c.i. kits for sportys. i have an 2006 roadster and Im thinking of hopping it up as well. You will have to have the cases bored out to use the bigger jugs. Good Luck and welcome to the world of sportys

Welcome to the forum, I like you already!!! get out the sawz-all, welder and a big hammer. you can stuff anything you want in there!! he he...

But really, hang out here, and when the Sportster experts get on line, they will be able to help you get to your goal.

Have fun.

Just need a welder! Longer chain,
and wait a minute,
why the longer swing arm?
Are you trying to adjust the way it handles???
longer swing arm makes me think "Hill-Climbing"

No...not "Hill Climbing"...just want to stretch it a bit, so I can make it more comfy for me....I am a taller fellar, and like to stretch out. I already have Forward Controls on it...but want more reach, and a Wider rear!!!

Yeah, he he, I didnt think you would be hill climbing..

but a longer wheel base certainly will change the ridability of it. how much longer are you thinking?
I dont know of anywhere to get a longer swing arm. I have my own little shop, so I would just cut it and stretch it, and weld it all back together.

Maybe get the wider swing arm kit, and stretch that one, then if you dont like it, you have the stock one to go back to.
