Default Rebuilt help

I was wondering if some one might be able to help me out. I recently rebuilt a 1985 xls 1000cc, bored .010 over, stock cams, and valve train. Re lapped valves, new piston/ring, bearings bushings, cv carb, v thunder ignition e.t.c.... My problem is that when I started the motor both cylinders where smoking. And when I shut the bike off i heard like a gurgling sound. The back cleared up just fine but the front never did, oil was dripping out the exhaust pipe, and smoking. I took it apart and found no clogged oil passages. How ever the intake valve was soaked with black sticky stuff, the exhaust valve was dead clean. I have great oil pressure coming back to the tank. Do you think the valve guides could be screwed up? They(local motorcycle shop) where supposed to change them. Also my ring gap seems to be ok. Could my drain in one the cylinders be clogged?

Any help would be apperciated,
Thanks drew

Cool Check

Did you measure the outside diameter of your valve stems for wear ? New guides will not help if the steams are bad , D-Rod .
