Default Not Much Traffic

I'm new to the site. Not much traffic in the Ironhead section, is there?

I suppose it's the same here as it is at the various rides and rallys I attend - few if any Ironheads being ridden. Actually, few Sportsters in general at the events...mostly touring-style big twins and Japanese bikes. Granted, Sportsters (older ones) aren't very good touring bikes, but these rides aren't generally that long - a few hundred miles or less most of the time. Anyway, I prefer back road blasting and short trips on mine, and that's how it's set up.

Rear fender from an Evo - shortened, recontoured and repainted, tank from a 1988 1200, NOS tach kit, H-4 headlight, Night Rod Special handlebars.

Very nice looking iron head. There are more iron head riders out there. I see a few around at different places.

Welcome to the forum, 83XLX, I love my 85XLX. I usually choose my Ultra for long rides but winding roads are much more fun on the Sporty.

I hear y'all saying that there are a lot of Ironheads out there. That may be true, but either their owners aren't riding them much, or I'm not going to the right places to see them.

Rode to the big rally in Lynchburg, TN last weekend with a couple of Sportster-riding buddies, and didn't see a single Ironhead other than mine (although I obviously didn't see every bike there). I did see one nice Shovel, though.
