| | Campbel Housfield I just replaced a Craftsman 33 gal oiless with a Campbell Housfield 2 stage. Much quiter. Had to bolt it to the ground and run 220 to it, but it's a worthwile upgrade. I think it's an 80 gallon. |

| | If all you want to do is fill tires I would just get a small portable compressor it will do fine. I have a small Craftsman 5 gallon and it will fill tires and run most air tools as long as you stop and let the compressor catch up.
and don't let the kids know you have one you will end up filling every bike tire on the block. |

It's powerful, portable, and very, very well made; also a good value for the $$. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden...6/product.html
Usual disclaimers. It's nothing to me - just want to share what is to me a hot deal.

| | Hey Bro,
I use a small one that came with my nailers and also have a couple small 12 volt ones that are GREAT for inflating tires. On the bike I never use air tools, just hand wrenches and good Snapon Torgue wrenches.

| | I have a 12 hp 2 stage 80 gallon, but I work on heavy equipment and big trucks. So I run 175 psi and need the volume for 1" air wrenches. |

| | I have a portable with a 20 gallon tank, then I have the largest model floor mounted air compressor Sears makes.
The large unit does the heavy jobs where a large volume of air is needed, the portable lets me get air to places my hoses on th big unit won"t reach. |

| | Re: Air Compressor??? ok..lets see i have a craftsman 33gallon, a honda gas powered 30 gallon, an ingersol-rand 25 gallon, campbell/hausfeld 5 gallon, a pancake 5 gallon and another small dual tank portabletype for hitachi nailer/construction type stuff that will just not die. You start buying compressors and then you start buying air tools and then you are addicted...be carefull....Or you'll end up like me with way too many air compressors and need a fix with more air tools...the wife is gonna kill me... wideglidebill |

| | Re: Air Compressor??? I have two, a 20 gallon portable, and a huge monster bolted to the garage floor. I use the large compressor more than the portable, and have plumbed air line couplings in different places in the garage.
