Default Oil Change Mess

Well after changing the oil filter and dumpng oil all over the regulator, I made my own device to help fix that mess. It took a couple trys to get the right shape, but it works. After it is cut to fit, then just slip in up under the oil filter and catch the drips.

I know someone makes a product that does the same thing, but this is "FREE"

Did I fergit to mention it is a DIY project? Specific to your bike size, color and model, and parking angle when oil change is performed. Remember front to back angle as well as side to side angle. It's best to have the bike level and upright. If the filter is chrome or not may or may not affect the design. Type of oil can is definately gonna affect the design.
good luck !

I think I am missing something here - rubber gloves when working on a bike??? Gee I should have thought of that - probably keep my wife from hollering at me when I wash my hands in her kitchen sink.....

Now, I wasn't going to mention the gloves until I figured out if he'd fall for the "send me two" trick. But, now that you mention it.

Cool 2 suggestions here :

1. keep a roll of hvy dty alum foil handy...and just slide a sheet of it under the filter to catch or drain off excess oil...then just throw it away, with the old filter (drained) wrapped in it

2. rather than the "ladies latex" gloves...just scrap your finger nails on a bar of soap before you get started. I mean you'll still have to wash your hands "wherever"...but at least the crud under your nails won't take forever to go away.

BTW: nothing wrong with white gloves,though....Mickey,Minnie,Donald & Goofy all wear them

As far as the white gloves go, I was thinking of Michael Jackson, but thats for another time I've also thought about your idea but I'll probably use a half gallon milk jug!

You guys are brutal... I am sure glad I wasn't wearing the purple gloves....

the aluminum foil is waaay too easy and probably a lot less mess. thanks for the tip.

I am now embarrassed... I threw away all the gloves a while back, guess it was a phase.

I think I relate more to Goofy than mickey or Minni, and definately not Michael Jackson...I kan't dance.

Hey Ken. If you use the foil and just toss......Ummm that could p_ss off a few tree huggers cuz you are wasting earths resources and would fall into the image of an Environmental Pig. You know we don't wanna offend no one on this board except maybe the one wearing the gloves.......

Unclepsycho- Thanks for sharing. I have a similar method I use when I aint in a hurry. You know a "RUB" would wear fingerless Latex gloves. So at least you beat that rap. Personally I use the hanging towels all around the house to clean off my hands......Or at least I did till I found out they were curtains.
