Default Props to Jims

I just wanted to take a few minutes & let everyone here know about a company who still takes pride in their product.

A couple of weeks ago while removing the inner race from a 5 speed mainshaft I broke the lip off of my Jims puller which forced me to use a knife edge puller behind the race.I discovered after the race was off that it had been installed with Loctite sleeve retaining compound, had I known this I would have heated the race prior to removal.

I contacted Margo at Jims & was treated extremely well, she helped decipher the number that had been worn off from years of use & issued me an RGA.

I received my replacement puller today,no charge for the tool or the shipping! My tool box contains many quality Jims products, but after today it will contain more.

In closing,if you find yourself in need of a specialty tool, why not buy it from a company that manufactures it in the U.S.,produces an extremely high quality tool AND backs it up.

That story is a perfect example of how noises can be a pain to find..

A few years ago there was a noise from the Front-Intake rocker area on the 120".. My bud, who has forgotten 10 times more than I'll ever learn, also thought it was at the front intake.. We both listened Everywhere with a stethescope..
So I started there..

It turned out to be the Rear-Intake rocker shaft and the rear-intake lifter wheel which in turn destroyed the cam..
No way to know which condition occured first to start the damage..

About Jims stuff--
I also use Jims Tools but I'm always leary of them cuz about 4 -5 years ago a buddy had 2 customers with 2 diff sets of Jims lifters "explode" and ruin their motors.. At about the same time I snapped 2 Jims Kicker shafts while kicking..
Ooh Yeah,, Jims sent me new shafts no prob but I'm wary about Jims quality-control and if it'll leave me on the road..

They sell great parts too. My evo cam cover was an expensive part but not only one of the best looking but easy to install. You get what you pay for!!

Jims EVO Cam cover

After my small mod (didn't like their ignition cover) and some custom pipes
