Default New Larger Oil Pan from Baker

Buzz,

I'm building a custom bagger based on a Rolling Thunder frame. The last major part to order was the transmission. I knew back in July when I started this project (I was recovering from a MC wreck that occured in May, ended up off work until September, but that's another story) that I wanted a Baker DDR 6speed. I found out Baker was getting ready to release a new oil pan that has different plumbing and an extra quart capacity. The in and out lines on a HD Twincam are located side by side. Which means very little oil is circulated around the oil pan. The Baker Oil Pan seperates the lines so the out line is not taking hot oil directly from beside the in line. The new 5 quart oil capacity and plumbing is suppose to be equivalent to adding an external oil cooler. Anyway, the motor is a FI S&S 124" Single Bore crate motor and I wanted the extra cooling capacity.
The R&D work is finally over at Baker and the oil pan goes into production after the first of the year. Is will be a cast oil pan. Baker called and offered me one of the R&D two piece billet alum pans, for a price of course. Them contacting me probably had something to do with phone calls to Chris every week checking on the availability of the new oil pan. I got word last week my transmission was being built last Friday. It took a few weeks to get on the build lis, I'm guessing because of the 1/2 inch extended mainshaft I need to clear the 200mm tire. I'm expecting delivery next week.
Just thought I'd pass along to the readers about a new product that if it works as advertised will be a great upgrade on the hot running twincam.
Duane

Default Saw their ad

I saw their ad in a mag the other day. The extra quart of oil is beneficial to the engine, the fine tuning of circulation is icing on the cake.
