Default 3.37:1 gear ratio

I tried the search and could not find any discussions on this matter. What I also was wondering if AIM has done an article on the gear change. In case someone don't know what I'm talking about is this... replacing the countershaft sprocket 25t gear with an 24t and replacing the clutch basket (36) with a 37t one. I'm sure I could do this mod with just the service manual but I would like to see an article with pictures and don't do's. Thanks, windwalker

I'm sure you mean the 25T motor sprocket yes..???

Not knowing how much research you've done, I checked my books..
The 24-37 set-up ended in '97 and the clutch pack also changed in '98 to present..
So, you might not be able to use your 2003 clutches..
The chain length looks like it is diff too.. Your chain is prob 84t,, the 24 -37 will require 82t..
I have not done this change,, I know it can be done but could be more involved than just changing the motor sprocket and the clutch shell..
I've been thinking about going to the 25-36 on babys 80" but saw the cost to change everything and dropped it..
Wish I could be more help..
