Default Leaking Trans Oil Seal

My 93 FXDL has developed a leak on the oil seal on the transmission side. Anyone has done oil seal replacement before? I plan to change on the primary side as well. Is it a major job or can it be done on your own. I've done some wrenchin on my own but have never attempted an oil seal replacement.

Hey Yun

This only pertains to clutch/primary side..
Since you've dome some work and are willing to tackle this I must reckon you can dis-assemble down to the Tranny.. I.E. remove the Primary system (Primary covers, drive train) to expose the Trans..
Then determine if it's the Main Seal or the Main Drive Gear Seal.. Most would replace both even if only one is leaking,, uh, me, I only do what's needed..

If you have or are willing to buy the Remover and Installer tools you will be more efficient but you can still do it without them, I sure did alota times..
Anyway, it's not a bad or hard job, it is alittle involved but it's a job you should be able to perform for yourself and if you're willing to cut the cord with the "shops" and learn these jobs you'll be waaay happier..

The tools required will cost about $210 from Jireh Cycles..
