Default drive belt issues

i have a 00 ultra classic with 40k . the belt runs true going forward but back the bike up less than 1 belt revolution and it dives to the inside of the drive pulley and hits the edge of the rear fender. i have checked swingarm and motor mounts. i just bought the bike. ANY IDEAS??

Your drive belt is designed to go in one direction. When you backup it'll shift a little on the pulleys. Sometimes it goes un-noticed..sometimes not. Yet,it would'nt hurt to monitor things 'til you're CERTAIN that it's all running true in the RIGHT direction,of course.
