Default proper clutch adjustment help please.

i just adjusted the clutch on my bike to get rid of excess freeplay at the hand lever, but i think i made a minor error.the clutch doesnt start grabbing as soon as it did before i adjusted it.does this mean i didn't back out the clutch adjuster screw enough after i seated it?or could it be that when i teightened down the jam nut it turned the clutch adjuster screw along with it?these are a couple of things i can think of that i may have donw wrong.or maybe it's something else.any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cool

Pono:
Start with loosening the clutch CABLE adjuster,'til your clutch LEVER is "sloppy-loose"

Then loosen lock-nut on CLUTCH adjuster..turn the screw in 'til it seats..turn it back-out about 1/2 turn..and,hold it RIGHT-THERE while you retighten the lock nut

Then go back to your clutch CABLE adjuster..turn it out (expanding) 'til you have only about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of LEVER free-play...tighten that lock nut..and you're done !

Your clutch may not start "grabbing" where it used to but it will start where it's supposed to !!

Y'er welcome,pono
Don't worry, you'll get used to it...and,"hey" look at it this way...you won't be having to pull the clutch lever IN so far when going thru the gears......
