Default Transmission lubricant level checking

I have a 07 FLHTCU: owner's manual page 148 and 07 Touring service manual 1-19 states when checking transmission lubricant level should be leaning on jiffy stand. Two dealers in my area stated the manuals are incorrect, the bike must be level.

When I check my bike from the jiffy stand, the level is below the "A" on the dip stick.

Who is correct; the manual or the dealers?

Thanks

To my knowledge, the transmission fluid is to be checked when the bagger is level, not leaning on the jiffy stand...

I check mine with the bike level also. I figure unless I am in a corner I will be level most of my riding time and thats about were the fluid should be. I have seen a few mistakes printed in the Manuals. If you see one send it to the address printed in manual for if you find mistakes. They should send out a correction page or pages.

I've also found mistakes in the the owners manuals and the only reason i know this is because i still have grease under my fingers nails from the sixties. The problem is when there's somebody who's new at it and only has the manual to go by. If in doubt never be afraid to ask questions
