When I can, I put the shop vac hose right by the tap and/or drill bit, and even duct-tape the vac hose in place to draw the filings out.....

just an idea

Hi guys

The Inner is Aluminum..

Heli-Coil is fine but here's an alternative..
I've done this many times even to the Inner Pri to Motor bolt holes..

Often the screws used are quite a bit shorter than the Outer to Inner's bolt hole,, and often the threads don't go all the way to the "bottom" of those holes..

So you insert a probe and see how long a screw you can thread in PAST the stripped out threads and simply Tap ALL the way to the bottom of the hole and simply get a longer screw..

Sometimes you'll luck out and "feel" that the threads already go to, or almost to the bottom and all you'll need in that case, is longer 1/4" x 20 screws..

Imagine that. The stripped screw hole,,,,,,,, that doesn't sound good, the stripped bolt hole was exhibiting UNTAPPED potential so I tapped it as suggested and the dickens I say if it didn't take torque with the outer pry mary in place. I will be re jetting and checking for operational leaks in the near future.
I wonder if I can pull the bendix off and use the other side for a while.
