just in case buzz sees this you should get the factory repair manual...your local dealer hd or trusted source should be able to cross reference the part #`s ...i run into the same thing and this is the best advice i have as of this writing....[ tell buzz i told you about the manual , my subscription is expired]

What do I have to do with this? I didn't crack his primary, and I was wondering why you hadn't renewed your subscription.

Are the part numbers in the repair manual? I bought a parts manual for part numbers. I haven't looked at my repair manual in a while but I think I bought the parts manual because the part numbers weren't in the repair manual.
Buzz, I renewed my subscription early.

I am not sure, but I think the position of the solenoid changed in the early or mid 90s, and the early and late Evo inner primaries are not compatable.

Too many differences to list here.Get the right inner for your bike, believe it or not the chrome inner from the MoCo is way cheaper than the wrinkle black part. Before just replacing the inner primary you might want to figure out what caused the break in the first place & address that situation.
