Default I want to build a servi-car....

I'm beginning to get the itch.......... I want to build something!
Has anybody seen or heard about any servi-cars out there?
I would like to build an old 45 cubic inch 3 speed( with reverse).
Just not sure how much of the build to start with.
I'm thinking something that is complete that needs work and some parts.
Any input before hand would be appreciated.
I've never done a 3 wheeler before.
I've built a couple Panheads, many sportsters, and a shovel, but never a trike, so I'm not quite sure what to look for or look out for.

Servicars are around and for sale. I'd recommend getting one that is pretty much complete and running so you know you have most of what you need to begin with. That way you can focus on building it the way you want it verses hunting all over for those hard to find parts.

You can also check out the Classic American Iron Magazine forum for leads and tips on anything relating to classic Harleys and Indians.

Just curous, why a Servicar when there are so many cool old Harley motorcycles you could choose from.

I think Harley Servicars are a lot of fun but don't know that would be my first choice in a Harley project.

I have built many bikes in my day. Pans, shovels, and many sporty's. Have wrenched on bikes for about 25 years with my friends. I've never done a servi-car and just think it would be fun. Might put my company on the box and do some small delivery's or something. I've got my street bob for cruising and my wifes sporty for playing. Just think an old servi would be a cool change.

I'm currently... well constantly... rebuilding/working on an 57 servicar (38 springer front, 45 flathead, custom rear seat instead of box). My dad built it in 1972 and gave it to me a couple years ago.

They are not fast and parts tend to fall off at freeway speeds, but everyone, and I mean everyone, will stop to look at you. What type to go with depends on your plans with it, i.e. show, drive, customize etc...

I've attached a pic of it from last summer when I was doing something to the rear end, like I said, work in progress.

Cheers.
