thanks to all for the suggestions on keeping them 'high maintenance wheels' shining!
The trunk lid with new gasket fixed my leak problem.

You can tell if it is cleared aluminum or not cleared by taking rubbing compound or wax on a rag and rubbing on the clean wheel.
If it comes off charcoal, black on the rag, then it is not cleared. If it comes off the color of the wax then it is cleared.
Any wax will keep brushed aluminum form oxidizing. Water is the enemy.
Also use silicone spray but pig spit about every other month, all over the bike works best for me.
Also I polished the lower forks on my bike, (01 Fat) about three years ago, then just keep them waxed, polish them every other year.
They look better than the dull clear coat did even when they need to be polished.
Cast aluminum you can use phosphoric acid on it, but don’t use it on polished aluminum or brushed aluminum unless you are going to re-polish it.
Also brushed aluminum with no clear, you can use steel wool on it, then wax it, or spray it.

Hello,

Harley has a new kit for the weather seals for your trike. Make sure your dealer know about this.

Keep the rubber side down!
