Default 9th Dyno Shootout Win In A Row

May 2, 2009 Cape Fear Harley Davidson Open House / Dyno Shootout.
CFHD always has an excellent Open House event. I went there last year and won the shootout. I thought that event was great but this year was even better. My numbers were a little lower than normal but that just means that everyone's numbers would be lower than normal also. 154 HP

From where I am sitting I would think that turbo V-Rod should have shown higher Hp as well. 124 seems really low from my experiences with them. I seen them easily into the 150's rear wheel. I wonder how many pounds of boost it was runnin"?

The power will differ from dyno to dyno. My bike has had 135 hp - 173 hp on different dyno shootouts. I'm sure that the V-Rod may have higher numbers on other dynamometers but, so will it's competition.

The Tech that ran the dyno, knew me from winning the previous year. He asked me to enter the shootout later in the day and that there is a turbocharged V-Rod entering the shootout that claims to have 200 hp. Of course we found out different.

The thing that is interesting is hearing the difference of the time it takes to max RPM between the two Ultra's w/nitrous and the turbo V-Rod.

Ya, 9-10'000 rpm's is a bit out of the Evo's realm of safe operation - LOL!!

200 hp may be a little bit of a stretch (but not impossible) but I have witnessed a number of turbo V-Rod's gain an easy 50 - 60 HP with a proper turbo install - all else stock and on pump gas. Same tuner, same dyno. The 1250's stock are 100 - 105 or so rear wheel. 124 hp is actually paltry for that set-up.
