Default NEW PRODUCT: Adjustable Cam Gear

Here is a product that I've been working on for a couple of years. I finally got the patent in the works and found a company to put them in production.

Adjustable cam gear for the 2007 and later chain drive cams. Adjustable from negative 10 degrees to positive 10 degrees.

Here is a link for more information:

How long has this been tested on the year model engines? Hours or miles.
Do you have a MTBF figure?(mean time between failure)

I've had on on my bike for over six months. My main concern wasn't the wear of the gear, because of what the gears are made of, but I was more concerned with if the locking nuts would keep the gear from moving. It has held up perfectly. (This is on my nitrous bike)

The first production run was made from the same material as the stock gears. The manufacturer was having problems machining them due to the extreem hardness of the metal. The new manufacturer is machining the hub (the part that goes on the splines of the cam) out of steel then having them hardened. The sprockets are now made from chrome moly steel then hardened after machining.

I can imagine that if you had 'splines' machined in between the two pieces so the gear can move at 1-degree increments and then lock down, then the 'teeth' will hold it and it cant move,- ever. like how the primary chain adjuster has "teeth" to hold it in place.
But, since you have got it on your nitrous bike, that proves it works, beyond a doubt! that's cool.

Yea, that idea was considered also. I would have went that route if the locking nuts didn't hold.

I've got a couple of other product ideas that I'm working on for the future. Hopefully before next winter.
