Question hotter cams

i have an 01 flht i am going to tear down this winter to replace the cam chain tensioners. i like working on the bike and really don't want to go to the expense of gear drive. so tensioners every few years is not a problem, just a reason to get to work on the bike.
the glide has about 40,000 miles on her, have done a carb mod, se pipes, and k&n hp air filter. most miles are 2 up, long distance, heavily loaded. the question is, while apart is it worth it to change the cams to a set for 2 up riding? will it add power and how much or just change the power band to a lower rpm? what would a good cam be for this setup?
thanks, steve

Unless you plan removing the rockers, you'll need a set of adjustable pushrods when you pull the cams. I wouldn't spend the money on cams with the stock 88 in. You have a great setup now and with optimum torque down low. I'd think about boring the jugs to 95" to increase your torque. Otherwise, you're right, leave it alone.

You could benefit some from a cam change, but that exhaust kills the upper end rpm ability. 2 into 1 exhaust helps a bunch. You may put some money into better cam chains, if yer gonna stick with 'em. They're polished, and don't wear the tensioners so much.

It really depends on how you ride the bike. Just tooling around and not worried about torque? Stay stock. Are ya a little bored with the power, and like to play? There' s lots to choose from, for sure. Pick carefully. Stock 88's fed right are plenty for most.

you might want to look into the Andrews 26's, I've seen good torque increases with the 26's and stock heads.

I installed andrews 26's last year and was very happy on my 88" this is the cam Harley should have used. Pulls hard between 1800 and 3200 all your tq in early.

Found it a little flat at 80 mph in 5 gear that is why I am doing a big bore in the next couple of weeks.

I have heard HQ 034 isnt bad either, most of the cam manufactures support their grinds in both gear and chain.
