Default Hot Xbones

I have a new Harley Xbones and was putting her away last night. When I flipped off the garage light I notices a red glow from the pipe area. The pipes under the heat shields were cherry red all the way to the small cross over. This is nearly the entire length of the pipes. I know these bikes run lean but is this normal?

txbonz:
Welcome aboard. Sounds like too lean and/or retarded timing..need more info, though. For example are you still running the stock exhaust, air filter & box etc..and,have any other mods been made to it ?? I'm not an EFI guru..but others here are..and will need that kind of info to work with. Just figured I'd help get the ball rolling. Meanwhile "NO" cherry red pipes are not the norm...a little (?) blueing Yes... glowing-red,No !!

No its not normal. It gets hot but should not be glowing. Seems you need it tuned a tad. Unless you were beating the hell out of it on a very hot day. Even then it shouldnt glow cherry red.
