They need to take it apart and check it...here is why. last week (Thursday) three of my buddies were coming from Colorado to my house for a visit. In Metropolis, Ill just short of Paducah, Ky my buddy Rick stopped for gas. When taking off he said it sounded like a lawnmower running over rocks. He called For Rivers H-D in Paducah. They came, picked the bike up and put it on the rack. Pulled the outer primary cover and the inside was destroyed. They stated if he would have been running highway speeds we woulda been scrapping him off the pavement. According to the tech Harley has two mods to the primary system that have been made with no recall. He rides an 07 heritage Classic. It took two days and $1,017.00 to fix it. Luckily he had the extended warranty. He was hearing funny little noises before it happened and the starter seemd to drag as well. If they haven't done it already, have them pull it apart and do a visual inspection. You do not want to end up with a locked up prinary at 70 mph. Good luck and be safe. Clif

All good calls here...
Bottom line, if you think there's something squirrely in there, pull the cover. Won't void the warranty. If you feel uneasy get a tech to do it. If he finds nothing wrong, you're out of pocket a few bucks but your mind's resting easy.

Sometimes the clutch basket will clang around some when the plates try to catch up with the rpms on disengagement.

Have you had anybody else ride it to duplicate the problems you are experiencing? Maybe a different dealer can help you out.

Fatdog , if it is like a slap feel when ever the clutch is involved, re- adjust the clutch, it easy and in the shop maintenance manuel. i would hear and feel a slight clap i re adjusted the clutch and it went away. i see 08 after adjust run out the gear a little more as you run . i get into the habbit of lugging a little from time to time and have to adjust my riding, i depend on the torq a little to much some times, good luck
