Thanks T Bone, this information might save me quite a few hours of head scratching and puzzlement. These bikes are getting way too complicated these days.

I know I have seen this posted before, and was just about to start a search to dig it up on the forum, so you posted this just in time.

Thanks.

T-bone, thanks, this is really great, hope I never need it.
Now if I can just remember where I saved it.

I think this is sticky material for those of who can't remember where we put it and be up at the top for quick reference if someone is in a pinch!

EDIT: Done....Its stuck!

This will go in with the service manual.

Will save a bunch of time and heartburn.
unfknblvbl thanks for making it a sticky. Will be valuable down the road.

Actually, you don't. Just open the file and it has instructions on how to read codes using the trip-meter button. I'm not really sure how far back these are good for. I know it works on my '06 Dyna but am not sure about other '06's or '05's.

Don't know about the rest of you,but my eyes 'aint what they used to be.Counting that flashing light really gets me wound up.I found a company called Daytona Sensors on the net, they sell a piece of gear that lets you read the codes on your laptop.I am definitly ordering one soon.I'll post on this forum how it works.

Default Re: Diagnostic Trouble Codes

I think you're onto something T bone. I tried this procedure on my 02, I didn't get the speedo needle sweep and the odometer read "d01CLr". Each time I pushed the odo reset button the number would count up one 01-02 etc. through 10, if I held the reset button for 5 sec. the odo would reset to the mileage readout. Does anyone out there know the procedure for the "older" Delphi bikes?
