It is complicated system but it is also a very good system especially with more popular engine builds.

Hey Earl, heard you were framed,,,,,,,,,anyhoo I had the Thundermax with Autotune installed last April and have about 8 or 9 thousand miles on it with nary a glitch in a variety of elevations and ambient temperatures. Lately I've been studying the user manual to facilitate some minor tweeking of the AFR, and there appears to be quite a variety of adjustments a guy or gal with a computer can make,,,,,careful though.
I am very happy with what it does and can do. Hope this helps you out.

I'm in north East Ohio and usually get out in the end of March(last year,March 30. 45 degree's and bright sunshine) or beginning of April.
Can't hardly wait no more.

I installed a thundermax autotune on my 07 Deuce and it is awesome. I have a lot of experience flashing software and tuning so the system seems fairly straightforward to me. The system can do as much or as little as you like. Install it and flash the software let it autotune and you are done for life. Or have it dyno tuned and leave it for life. If you want to play around it can do lots.

When the weather warms up I was going to try and lean the engine out a bit below 2900 rpm and see what that does for fuel economy.

Hi
I'm also saving my pennies for the Thunder Max auto tuner for my 07 Dyna. Did you buy direct from Zippers? After talking to their tech advisor, I was under the impression that no computer interface was reqiured. In other words, they put the base map in for your application before shipping. All that was needed was installation and ride. Did I understand him correctly or was something lost in translation?
Thanks

This system is just like any other system where it requires a base map. The O2 sensor has a certain range that it operates in. Example: Let's say the range is between 10:1 - 15:1 AFR and then engine has rich spots of 9:1. Since 9:1 is "out of range" the sensor can only adjust to a certain point.

The closer the base map is, the better the Thundermax system will perform. They have a large library of maps to choose from that can get the system close. It seems that the maps come with the software. Thunderheart has e-mailed non-standard maps to me on occasion. They may do the same for you.
Search for a map in the software that is the closest fit to your bike. It is very similar to the Power Commander map list.
The system also records your AFR and if you get familiar with the system, you can see the "out of range" spots and manually correct them.

Hopes this helps.
