Default Helmet ????????

I have a full face helmet. It is a very nice one but I have a problem when it starts getting warmer. I don't ware it!! I was thinking about getting a half helmet and would like a little feed back about them. I have been told that there is a wind problem on the highway pulling your head back from the front lip. Are there half helmets that are better then others?? A little help PLEASE!! Thanks for your time.

I'll try to be of assistance. I never have been able to stand a full face helmet, in bitter cold I put a face shield on a 3/4 helmet.
I have HJC 3/4 helmets with headsets for the wife and me when we are on the Ultra, HJC half helmet, and my latest purchase...a Head Trip Carbon Fiber Composite extended half which is very light which is increasingly important because I have extensive osteoarthritis which is affecting my neck.
I don't experience much of a lift or pullback from the wind, just barely noticeable at highway speeds. Have a great day, ride safe and God Bless, Sincerely: Shovelmike.

I did some looking around. That Head Trip Carbon Fiber Composite extended half looks very good. I found some reviews on it too. Everyone only said good things about them. I'm not big on getting stuff on line that has to have a size with it. I will have to check around and see if any of the bike dealers have them in stock. Ya never know. Might get lucky. Thanks for the good info. Have a great day!!!

I wear a 1/2 helmet all the time. The question I have - do you ride with a windshield? if so, no problem - if not it will cause the pull that you described.

I pulled the visor off my half helmet and it seemed to eliminate the pull back. It's not like that little visor was shading my eyes anyway or keeping the sun off my face. A dab of spf 50 before an afternoon ride takes care of any issues.

Yeah, reality really sucks when you have to think about the big picture. I had a skin cancer scare at the beginning of the year so gotta be careful from now on.

No Tex I don't ride with a windshield. I have a 03 softail springer. I can't bring myself to put one on that bike.

Getting old sucks, but the alternative is much worse.

Springer82, I agree, a windshiled on a springer is like putting a beard on Traci Lords. It just don't look good.
