Question off-topic...clogged carb

I have a blower that is not working well. I just rebuilt the carb. Not any better. When I push on the feed bulb nothing happens. That little port must be full of junk. Carb cleaner and air hose did not do the job. Is there something anyone knows about that I can soak my carb in to melt the crap inside. Thanks for your time.

Springer,

You referring to the primer bulb? I just pulled the carb on my power washer. Wouldnt run without adding fuel through intake. When you say you rebuilt it did your remove the jet from the carb and clear it? The slightest piece of crap in there will cause fuel issues. Botz

Hi there... Make sure that little rubber ''bulb'' has no holes in it.... that can cause you grief if there is... also the fuel line could have a hole in iot too.
I just did this exact same thing to my weed eater last week.

If that aint it, then take the carb apart and stare at it and look at every little hole in there. there has got to be one of them that is plugged. I have used the wire off a wire brush to probe in there to break the gunk loose. sometimes soaking it wont do it, but there are various carb cleaners on the market. I like chemtool B-12

good luck!

I just re-read your post... if you push that bulb and nothing happens...then it has to be a hole in the bulb or the fuel line..... nothing to do with the carb at that point.
the filter on the end of the fuel line in the tank could be plugged up too....

the teeeniest holes till do this to you, so look close at the bulb and fuel line...

Hi Springer

Are you talking about a leaf blower or something like that..

Anyway I use--- Berryman B-9 Chem Dip, Carb and Parts cleaner..

A 1 gallon can is prob the smallest available..

Mine is several years old but still good cuz the can re-seals Very well..

It has a basket in it that you place the parts in and drop back down..

Prob get it at any Auto Parts store, that's where I got mine..

Frisco,

I used to have the same setup with the basket to dip the parts BUT in this wonderful state of NY it is no longer legal to purchase parts cleaner in 1 Gal. buckets. The environment nazis got us on that one. BOtz

For you to make that plunger spit, look down into the carb bowl. So, remove the bowl. There is going to be a hole in the bottom of that cavity where the plunger shaft guides down into. You need, like mentioned is to poke a hole in that feed opening so that cylinder fills up to be sucked up out of the plunger system so it can spray.

Either way, there will be a sub-bowl separate from the float bowl, but within the bowl. Make sure you can empty the sub-feeder if spraying the bowl clean, or watch the sub-system fill equally to the same level as the main float bowl fluid. Then you know the sub-bowl has fuel for pickup on the vacuum plunger system.
