Default 203 or 253 cams for 103 stage one kit??

I am putting together a 103 and the Harley shop I am dealing with said that the 203 cams are fine for that application. I see that Screamin Eagle has a kit that uses 253 cams. I am not sure but does the 253 cams have longer durration and if so any dependability issues? Thanks for reading

What kind of scooter Bipenut? Your dealer can give you a Screamin Eagle catalogue that will give you all the SE cam specs. My bro and I both have SE 211's in heavy bikes and a good strong torque curve from 3000 up, peaking at 4000. That, of course is with ported and polished heads. Not what you asked, eh?

Sorry, it is an 06 Ultra that had stock 88 in it till the inner cam bearing went out and took everything else with it... 22000 miles, took out the case as well.. so going with 103 crank, flat top pistons, and big bore kit, originally I thought the crank was OK so I was just going with the 95 inch big bore with 203 cams, figured out the crank was bad today and got a deal on the 103 crank and pistons with exchange of the pistons I was going to use. I am wondering if I should trade the 203 cams for the 253 cams, also wondering about dependability.
Thanks

i would go with some s&s gear driven cams i got a set in mine they ae equilivent to the 253 gret tork and you don't have to worry about the cam tensioner goig bad either and go take your heads and get them ported and polished to i just stroked my 05 fatboy now i have 110 hp and 108 tq you will love it and go with 10.5 to 1 pistons
