Default Affordable wheels

I'm waiting for the delivery of my 2010 Street Bob. I have found all of the after market items I plan to put on the bike, with the exception of affordable wheels. I'm looking for good looking wheel that won't cost me $1500.00+ for one. Do they exist?

The HD accessories have some so-so wheels that you could get both front and rear for under $1,000 - that is unless they changed the axle size again in 2010. The really nice polished chrome wheels go for around $1,000/ea. I'm still running dirty spokes because of this cost. I'm not about to drop more than $2,000 on changing the wheels. I'd rather put an upgrade to the engine for that coin if I had it.

HD accessories total prices for both front and rear (not counting the installation kits or rotors if they need to be changed)
Magnum 5 - $1,100
Road Winder - $2,450
Slotted Six Spoke black textured - $800
Slotted Six Spoke Chrome textured - $1,100

When it comes to motorcycle wheels (like brakes) you really need to be careful and not cheap out on quality as you count on them for safety.

Sure, you have to be able to afford them, and they need to look good on the Harley, but also make sure they are well designed, safe and functional.

I also ordered a 2010 Street Glide and went with the 18" wheels from the 2009 Road Glide CVO. Not cheap but offered by Harley so I know they will fit and are quality. Just a thought. I gave serious consideration to having the stock wheels chromed.

Thanks for the inputs, I appreciate them. I know I don't want to just buy any rim, they have to be from a trusted manufacturer, I'm much like TBone, I would rather spend the big bucks on something else. Again, thanks... jb
