Hey Bart

The Comp-Sprck nut normally does Not loosen if the unit is installed correct and correct Torque is applied,, there might be some other issue going on..
You'd have to supply more info about what you found at the C-S..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here we go again------------

"""Klunking in the front forks indicates the need to change fork oil. Check your maintenance chart to see how often that needs to be done."""

I'd like to see what article, forum, manual, Maintenance routine, Q&A tech,,,, etc etc he found that---------
"""Klunking in the front forks indicates the need to change fork oil."""

Front-end clunks are usually caused by loose neck bearings..

Front fork clunks are caused by worn lower-leg bushings,.. and/or tooo little oil or tooo light-visc oil..
Loose brake caliper/s or rotors or axels or bad wheel bearings, in-correct install,,, etc etc etc can also be the culprits but not nearly as often..

I've experineced nearly everyone of those probs and believe me NONE of those things can be fixed by a better "fork oil changing" routine..
That's like changing the air in your tire to fix a flat,,,, jeeeeze..

You need to check the runout on the crank when you have the comp off. It will cause a clunk in the primary and oil to come out of the intake.

+1 with what harold is getting at, the check valves are letting the oil back flow into the crank case (sumping). Something else to look at are the hoses from the heads to the filter plate could be cracking and allowing oil to drip out of the hoses.
