Default 07 Dyna battery heads up

This may very well apply to other years.
My 07 FXDWG After I removed the Neg. cable to install the PCIII, required frequint tightning. I even put another star washer on as told to me by the service advisor.
Would get so bad after a longer run , then cool down she would be hard to start.[ yes I know the PCIII start trick]
Anyway even though I kept after it the other day after sitting a day or two she was spinning over but no fire. I check all the fuses and relays etc. Then went to the battey to find the Neg conection was Melted. Damn 30 days out of warranty, but figured I'd have a shot at a pro-rated battery because I had previously brought the subject up to the dealer/service dept.
Nope tuff
$108.23 latter I'm back running. The new batter terminals are a diff. design
Just becarefull and check them
Pic enclosed Note tool marks are mine to get the cable to make contact

Loose connections create major heat... hence the melting. Sucks to see it destroy your battery though

Good day. What is the PCIII start trick? Also for a new battery, try Odyssey as their warranty on their motorcycle bat., is 2 whole years like 4 times anyone eles's and not pro rata. They are a dry cell bat., deep cycle and starting battery all in one. They are the best out there by far that I have ever seen. They have brasss terminals and I believe they will take up to 50 in LBs torque. For anyone needing a new bat., check them out athttp://www.odysseyfactory.com/literature.html I will be installing one in my 2007 FXDL sooner then later. When a nornal bat., goes for a pop south they are good one moment and then just gone, the Odyssey starts to go slowly so so know they are on there way out which gives you time to replace them and get home etc. A norm., battery gives you no warning as I am sure will all have had that happen. You all have a great day now eh.

Odyssey batteries are junk,so are Big Boar. The H-D battery (AGM) is the only one that actually lasts.

I had the original battery on my 07 FXDL go bad after exactly 12 mo. They finally replaced under warranty, but when I took it in the dealer said at first that the battery checked out ok with their HD Battery tester. I told them to let it set overnight then try and start. They called the next day and said they replaced the battery. I now use a battery tender whenever it sets overnight. I've always used interstate batteries on my car and truck with excellect results. Don't know if they make one for the bike, but when I need a new one I will research.

Interstate batteries are the "wet" type (made by Yuasa) this is a step backwards from the H-D battery, but it's your choice.
